Thank you to EVERYONE who has helped, hinted, haunted, and horrified us this year - enjoy your Halloween!

The Haunted Hike is alive and well. And Scary!

This just in: The haunted Hike is back for another season of scares and cares - and they need your help!

In October 2010 The Haunted Hike in Sherwood Park, Alberta was a victim of their own success. Located near a residential area the thousands of visitors caused traffic jams and other congestion problems when they ran and were unable to remain open for the last weekend of October. Despite that, they managed to raise $30,140 to support the Stollery Children’s Hospital, a world-class children’s facility.

Something had to be done, and on September 27, 2011, the Strathcona County Councillors approved the running of a Park and Ride program to bus visitors onto the site, thereby relieving the congestion during the event. We want to thank all of you who contacted your council and lent their support to making this decision.

Now we call upon all your dEdmontonians to help make Halloween in Sherwood Park exceed last year!

The organizers of The Haunted Hike are looking for some volunteers to help at the Park and Ride facility! The event runs Friday and Saturday nights from October 14th through the 29th. There are 4 hour shifts available, and you don’t have to commit to all nights - on the condition that you tell your friends to volunteer or attend!

Please contact thehauntedhike at gmail.com or info at dedmonton.com for more details.

We hope to see you scare! Er, see you there I mean…
