It’s 6:66 PM, where is Miss dEdmonton?

As many of you have noticed we’ve had some troubles with the website recently. It seems that a major zombie infestation that happened last Friday evening also created chaos with dEdmontonians. As you know, zombie outbreaks start slowly at first, festering within patient zero, infecting innocents slowly at first, before finally becoming the outbreak of over 400 zombies you witnessed along Whyte and Jasper Avenues last week.

It seems that Patient Zero may have infected some of you earlier than we thought, back in September. These sluggish souls suffered within their skins, unable to complete tasks that they needed to – whether it was filming their entry for a contest, marketing to the right media, or hitting the scene to scrape together scary entries.

Miss dEdmonton may have been consumed as well, were it not for the minions of the macabre who wrestled the contest out of Patient Zero’s cold. dead. hands…

There is still a chance at the competition – the contest lives again, reanimated like the zombies that caused the disruption in the first place.

You have until October 20th at 6:66 PM (okay, we can hold it over until 7:06 PM if you REALLY need it) to finish your 90 second video, post it to YouTube, tag it as Miss dEdmonton 2010, and email us at contest@dedmonton.com

Then, over the following 11 days of the month we will be asking the Miss dEdmonton contestants to appear at different public events. At some of these events you will be asked to perform a task or a talent in front of the audience. your performance will be judged by the patrons, audiences, passers-by. All of these will be taken into consideration up to, and including, October 31st, 2010.

The Minions of the Macabre will feed the results to the Ornery Oracle who will crown Miss dEdmonton in November. The location of the Grotto of Gore, where the crowning event will take place, will be announced after Halloween! Mwahahaha

On your marks, get set, shoot. Just remember to aim for the head, these are zombies you know!

Out of Town Events

dEdmonton isn’t just about Edmonton, because we know that the suburbs can be plenty spooky too. If you live outside of Edmonton here are some local scares that might be closer to your neck of the woods:
